About Magharvada
In folklore: the local saying "Simade sarap chirano" (the snake split at the boundary) comes from a story about this village. Magharvada and Manekvada, two Charan villages, had a long boundary dispute that once turned into a fight when surveyors came. A snake passed by and the villagers, taking it as divine, asked it to fix the boundary. The snake went in a straight line, and on reaching a kerda tree planted by their ancestors it climbed over the top rather than favour either village — and was split in two coming down. A shrine to the snake, known as "Mal", stands across the river from Manekvada; many Kathiyawadi families worship it as their family deity, and newly-weds untie their wedding knot there.
