About Manekvada
In folklore: the local saying "Simade sarap chirano" (the snake split at the boundary) comes from a boundary dispute between the Charan villages of Magharvada and Manekvada. A passing snake, asked by the villagers to settle the boundary, went in a straight line and climbed over a kerda tree rather than favour either village — and was split in two. Its shrine, known as "Mal", stands across the river from Manekvada and is worshipped as a family deity by many Kathiyawadi families.
Padma Shri Bhikhudan Gadhvi, the renowned Dayro (folk storytelling) artist, was born in this village.
